June 1 Breakfast at the hotel
Today will be at your leisure. Simply enjoy relaxing at your hotel or go out on your own to explore the famous sites of London, such as Big Ben, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, and many more. This evening we will meet at the hotel for dinner and an enlightening class by one of our resident professional genealogists.

June 2 This morning we have an early start, after breakfast we visit the National Archives in Kew (just west of London). After an orientation class taught by the Archive staff we have the chance to spend a full day researching in over 1000 years of records. We will have the option for one-on-one consultations with our three resident professional genealogists. Dinner at your leisure.

June 3 This morning we visit the Society of Genealogists (need to be there at opening,10:00) where we will spend the morning at the National Family Centre. Before lunch (10:30)we enjoy an introduction to The Society of Genealogists by a
staff person. This afternoon is at your leisure to further research unique records that you won’t find anywhere else including:
Army records, Boyds Records, Court Records and Local Records. We will meet is this evening to share dinner together.

June 4 This morning we visit the Society of Genealogists where we will spend the morning at the National Family Centre. Before lunch we enjoy an introduction to The Society of Genealogists by the staff. After breakfast we have a presentation by one of our prestigious English genealogists before heading back to the National Archives at Kew to continue our research with the option to have one-on-one consultations with our three resident professional genealogists. June 5 After breakfast we head out along the back roads to Canterbury. Here we have the opportunity to visit Canterbury Cathedral Archives, which holds a wealth of manuscripts, photographs, maps and other records dating back to the late 8th century. These make up an extraordinarily rich resource. In the Archives, you can find out more about the Cathedral, it’s history, it’s building and it’s community. You can explore the history of Canterbury and the surrounding area, and you can
research East Kent family history. The Cathedral Archives building dates from 1954; it was built to replace a Victorian library destroyed by bombing in 1942. The Archives building was refurbished in 2012 with generous support from the Albert Reckitt Charitable Trust. This evening enjoy dinner on your own.

June 6 We continue along the back roads after breakfast, going even further back in time, you’ll travel through the rolling green Wiltshire landscape to Stonehenge, a collection of stones dragged to this lonely plain near Salisbury 5,000 years ago. Who built it? Why? These questions have haunted the minds of centuries of scholars. Set in a landscape dotted with prehistoric mounds and carvings, Stonehenge continues to enthrall the imagination and captivate the heart of every visitor. Next, it’s on to Bath, famous for it’s elegant Georgian architecture. During your panoramic tour of Bath you will be enchanted by the town’s beautifully proportioned streetscapes. You’ll see Bath Abbey, Pulteney Bridge, modeled after the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, visit the Roman Baths, the best preserved Roman spa from the ancient world. Dinner on your own.

June 7 Today you will have a full day at your leisure. You may wish to stroll leisurely down Oxford street to pick up some bargains, visit the wonderful tate Modern or experience traditional High Tea in a local cafe, go up to the London Eye, or this evening you may wish to take in production of the fabulous London theatre.

June 8 After breakfast we visit Dr. William’s library, a major research library and home to over 300,000 titles from the earliest years of printing to the present including many thousands of manuscripts from the thirteenth to the twenty-first
century. After lunch we visit the British Museum, a museum in London dedicated to human history and culture. It’s permanent collection, numbering some 8 million works, is among the largest and most comprehensive in existence and originates from all continents, illustrating and documenting the story of human culture from it’s beginnings to the present. This evening will will enjoy dinner together.

June 9 Today is at your leisure. We will enjoy a farewell dinner together at a local restaurant before we wrap up the previous week.

June 10 After breakfast transfer to the airport for your flight home (or continue your journey on your next adventure). Mobility: All of our tours involve walking and require our guests to board and disembark our vehicles several time a day making this tour unsuitable for those with reduced mobility.
